This came up in another thread, so being the curious sort, I thought I would try a few quick comparisons. I had about 5 minutes to shoot these so not the greatest photography on display here - literally pulled into a parking lot and shot a church building out the window of my car - it was backlit in some really harsh unattractive light so I knew these would be ugly no matter what, but ugly is a new XE3 with the 18-55 mm Kit lens from a store (+/- $1200) Answers to typical questions: Price is Canadian. For the XE1 I would get a Kipon or 7 artisan lens as I would like manual focus. The Wifi feature of the XE3 would be nice but not necessary. Used Fujis are hard to find where I am. Sold the 3 and bought another 2. 3 takes great images but ‘left’ the X-E roots IMO. 3 images look just like X-T2. 3 loses the flash and feels like a bar of soap instead of a camera. RAW files are much more flexible in making changes on your computer. Fine and normal are both jpeg but Fine is higher quality (and produce larger files). I have the X-T3 and mostly shoot raw + fine jpeg - the jpeg images are generally good enough to view and make small changes while the raw files are there in case greater changes are needed.
